Seminar on Biomaterial-Associated Infections
On October 30th, 2024, Corticalis participated in a highly engaging seminar focused on biomaterial-associated infections, drawing a large audience of students and faculty members. The event featured international peri-implantitis experts Mariano Sanz, Lisa Heitz-Mayfield, and Mario Romandini, who shared their extensive research on the definitions, diagnostics, and cutting-edge interventions related to peri-implant diseases.
Our PhD students showcased Corticalis’s latest research, highlighting innovative developments in biomaterials aimed at reducing bacterial colonization, enhancing tissue integration, and actively supporting healing—a promising step forward in the fight against peri-implant complications.
Badra Hussain presented her work on our chemical contamination in peri-implantitis, PeriClean™. These unique investigations demonstrate how surface modifications and bioactive coatings can prevent biofilm formation, while promoting healthy tissue responses. By exploring how next-generation biomaterials can minimize peri-implant diseases, our team continues to strengthen Corticalis’s position as a leader in biomaterials research. By exploring innovative biomaterial solutions and sharing evidence-based research, we continue to advance the science and practice of peri-implant health, ultimately improving patient outcomes and setting new standards in modern dentistry.
