                                <title><![CDATA[Corticalis participated at EuroPerio11 in Vienna]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p>Corticalis AS was proud to participate in EuroPerio11 in Vienna in 2025 — the world’s leading congress in periodontology and implant dentistry. The event brought together clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders from across the globe, offering a unique platform for knowledge exchange, technology demonstration, and strategic collaboration.</p><br /><p>Hosted at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center, EuroPerio11 confirmed its position as the premier international meeting for the field. It featured more than 10,000 participants and a vibrant industry exhibition. As a company dedicated to developing advanced biomaterials for bone regeneration and peri-implant health, Corticalis was pleased to contribute to the scientific dialogue and engage with stakeholders from academia, clinical practice, and the MedTech sector. Corticalis was especially proud to have several of its collaborators represented in the scientific programme. This included presentations from Angela De Lauretis and Håvard J. Haugen on innovative biomimetic peptides and peri-implant health technologies — both areas central to Corticalis’ development strategy. These contributions underscore our commitment to translating fundamental biomaterial science into clinically relevant solutions.</p><p>EuroPerio11 also allowed Corticalis to strengthen partnerships, explore new clinical collaborations, and reaffirm its role at the intersection of science, innovation, and clinical need.</p>]]></description>

                                <title><![CDATA[Corticalis joins two European Doctoral Training Networks]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p>🔬 Corticalis AS is proud to contribute as an associated partner in two Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Training Networks</p><p>Both initiatives build on our ongoing Norges forskningsråd-funded DEBRIGEL project and reflect growing recognition of our commitment to advancing peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis care through innovation.</p><br /><p>StraDiVarious, led by Adrian Goldman at the University of Helsinki, focuses on addressing antimicrobial resistance by investigating the early-stage interactions between pathogenic bacteria and host cells.<br><br>SHIELD, coordinated by Margarita Trobos at the University of Gothenburg, tackles implant-associated infections in orthopaedics and odontology. The project integrates regenerative medicine, biomaterials research, and clinical translation to pioneer novel antibacterial solutions.</p><p>As part of these consortia, Corticalis will: 1) Provide doctoral candidates with hands-on experience in dental implant debridement, 2) Support non-antibiotic biomaterials development, 3) Share insights into the regulatory landscape of medical devices in Europe.</p><p>We are committed to helping shape the next generation of MedTech innovators by equipping them with specialised, cross-disciplinary expertise relevant to EU industry needs.</p><p>As highlighted in the recent Norges forskningsråd National Report on the Evaluation of Medicine and Health in Norway (2023–2024), strengthening research-industry collaboration is essential to increasing societal impact. These projects represent an important step in that direction.</p><p>We look forward to working with University of Oslo alongside leading European partners—and to supporting talented PhDs as they prepare to enter and shape the future of the EU MedTech sector.</p>]]></description>

                                <description><![CDATA[<p>This month, Angela De Lauretis had the opportunity to attend the 2025 AADOCR/CADR Annual Meeting & Exhibition in New York, where she presented her Industrial PhD work with Corticalis on chemical debridement products. </p><br /><p>This conference brought together leading researchers, clinicians, and industry experts to discuss the latest advancements in oral health, prevention, and treatment strategies.</p><p>Throughout the event, Angela participated in sessions covering prevention strategies, oral care guidelines, regulatory challenges, and industry-sponsored symposia, gaining key takeaways on the latest research and market trends. She also had the opportunity to engage in discussions that directly relate to Corticalis' work and the future of oral health innovation.</p><p>A key moment of the conference was presenting PeriPrep, Corticalis' innovative antibiotic-free product for chemical debridement. It was great to share the impact Corticalis is making and see how current industry trends align with the value it brings to the field.                                 <title><![CDATA[Seminar on Biomaterial-Associated Infections]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p class="bodytext">On October 30th, 2024, Corticalis participated in a highly engaging seminar focused on biomaterial-associated infections, drawing a large audience of students and faculty members. The event featured international peri-implantitis experts Mariano Sanz, Lisa Heitz-Mayfield, and Mario Romandini, who shared their extensive research on the definitions, diagnostics, and cutting-edge interventions related to peri-implant diseases.</p><br /><p class="bodytext">Our PhD students showcased Corticalis’s latest research, highlighting innovative developments in biomaterials aimed at reducing bacterial colonization, enhancing tissue integration, and actively supporting healing—a promising step forward in the fight against peri-implant complications.</p><p class="bodytext">Badra Hussain presented her work on our chemical contamination in peri-implantitis, PeriClean™. These unique investigations demonstrate how surface modifications and bioactive coatings can prevent biofilm formation, while promoting healthy tissue responses. By exploring how next-generation biomaterials can minimize peri-implant diseases, our team continues to strengthen Corticalis’s position as a leader in biomaterials research.                                 <title><![CDATA[Corticalis AS Showcases Innovative Research at EAO Milan]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p class="bodytext">We are delighted to announce that our industrial PhD student, Angela De Lauretis, presented her groundbreaking work at the prestigious EAO (European Association for Osseointegration) conference in Milan.</p><br /><p class="bodytext">Angela’s research—“A Comparative Evaluation of Chemical Decontamination Products on the Cleanliness of Dental Implant Surfaces Using a Dental Pellicle Model”—offers valuable insights into optimizing dental implant surface hygiene, a critical step in enhancing peri-implant health and patient outcomes.</p><p class="bodytext">This innovative study compared multiple decontamination solutions and showcased the effectiveness of a novel hydrogen peroxide-activated hydrogel developed by Corticalis AS. The findings underscore its potential in combating biofilm formation and maintaining implant cleanliness.</p><p class="bodytext">We are proud of Angela’s significant contributions to peri-health technology and her role in driving advancements in periodontal health research.                                 <title><![CDATA[Award-Winning Clinical Innovations in Implant Dentistry]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p class="bodytext">Corticalis AS is proud to announce that Ingvild Nysæther has received the award for Best “Clinical Innovations in Implant Dentistry” at the EAO (European Association for Osseointegration) conference in Milan. This recognition was granted for the first clinical trial on our bone graft material, <span style="font-weight: bold;">NuBone® Augment.</span></p><br /><p class="bodytext">This remarkable achievement highlights our pioneering efforts to develop a synthetic dental bone graft. By working closely with the University of Oslo and other respected European institutions, we successfully translated laboratory research into human clinical trials—a crucial milestone in advancing regenerative biomaterials.</p><p class="bodytext">We extend our sincere gratitude to Norges forskningsråd, Eureka Network, and the European Commission for their unwavering support and research grants.                                 <title><![CDATA[New PhD thesis on our bone graft materials ]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p class="bodytext">We’re delighted to announce that Minh has successfully defended his thesis, “The dynamics of bone augmentation with a TiO₂ graft material: Studies in challenging pre-clinical models.” His work focuses on our ceramic titanium dioxide scaffolds, which offer safer, more adaptable bone graft solutions for dental and orthopaedic treatments.</p><br /><p class="bodytext">By eliminating the risk of disease transmission and allowing for customized shapes and sizes, these TiO₂ scaffolds show great promise in supporting bone growth. Minh’s research demonstrated encouraging pre-clinical results, highlighting the material’s potential while also underscoring the need for further study before clinical use.</p><p class="bodytext">The thesis addresses important issues such as evolving medical device regulations in the European Union and the growing preference for synthetic materials in healthcare. Through this collaborative effort with Universidad Complutense and Justus-Liebig University of Giessen, Minh’s work sets the stage for new innovations in bone regeneration, advancing both patient care and scientific understanding.</p>]]></description>

                                <title><![CDATA[Celebrating Innovation at Benforskningssymposiet 2024]]></title>
                                <description><![CDATA[<p class="bodytext">Angela De Lauretis captivated the audience with her presentation on our novel strategies for managing peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis. She addresses a common and complex clinical challenge with innovative solutions by combining effective implant debridement techniques with approaches to restore peri-health.</p><br /><p class="bodytext">Attending Benforskningssymposiet 2024 at the picturesque Voksenåsen Conference Center was genuinely inspiring. This annual symposium is a crucial platform for Norwegian researchers to share knowledge, discuss advancements, and bridge scientific research with clinical practice in bone health. </p><p class="bodytext">The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between scientists and clinicians. Clinical contributions offered practical, patient-focused insights that ensure research remains relevant to real-world challenges.</p><p class="bodytext">A big thank you to the organizing team, including Janne Reseland and Unni Syversen, for making this symposium a resounding success.
